College Football Playoff COO gets 3-year contract extension

IRVING, Texas (AP) — College Football Playoff chief operating officer Michael Kelly has received a three-year contract extension that runs through June 2020.

Kelly has been COO of the College Football Playoff since its inception in 2012. Previously, he was associate commissioner of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Kelly, a Wake Forest graduate, has also been an administrator at his alma mater and at the University of South Florida.

Kelly's role includes game management and leading the site selection process for the national championship game. He also is the primary liaison with the bowl games, and works with the selection committee, television partners and the CFP Foundation.

CFP Executive Director Bill Hancock also announced Monday that Laila Brock has been promoted from director of operations and logistics to senior director for operations and logistics.
