WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Malachi Alexander had 15 points, Robert Champion added 12 and Anthony Thompson made a free throw with 3.2 seconds left to give Holy Cross a 63-62 win over Loyola Maryland on Wednesday night.

Loyola called a timeout after Thompson missed the second free throw but the Greyhounds turned the ball over before getting a final shot. Alexander tied the game at 62 with a pair of free throws with 1:58 remaining.

The Crusaders (15-15, 9-8 Patriot League) had an 11-2 run in the middle of the first half to lead 23-14 and were up 41-31 at the break. They pushed the lead to 14 and were up 57-46 after a 3-pointer by Alexander midway through the half. A 3-point play by Jarred Jones started a 10-0 run, capped by a James Fives 3-pointer at the 7:06 mark.

After an Alexander basket, Andre Walker had back-to-back 3s to put the Greyhounds up 62-59 with 3:49 to go.

Walker finished with 17 points and Jones 14 for Loyola (14-14, 8-9).
