Bucknell pours it on in 4th quarter, beats Lafayette 42-17

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Chad Freshnock scored twice on short runs in the fourth quarter and Bucknell used the late surge to pull away from Lafayette 42-17 on Saturday.

Bucknell (3-4, 2-1 Patriot League) scored 21 points in the final period, the third TD coming on two Joey DeFloria rushes after an interception. DeFloria finished with 130 yards on 27 carries, his fourth 100-yard game, and Freshnock added 76 on 18 carries.

The Bison racked up 349 yards of total offense as they snapped a seven-game home losing streak. The Leopards (1-7, 0-3) have lost seven in a row and were held to 53 yards rushing on 26 attempts.

Drew Reed went 12-for-21 passing for 167 yards and a touchdown for Lafayette. He threw one TD, one interception, and was sacked three times.

Bucknell gained 259 yards on the ground with Will Carter also rushing for two touchdowns.
