SAN DIEGO (AP) — Tevin Heyward and Jonah Hodges scored in the final five minutes to lift San Diego to a 34-22 win over Dayton on Saturday.

The Flyers shocked San Diego, taking a 22-21 lead when Chris Hagan picked up a fumbled snap by the punter and took it 31 yards for a touchdown. On the PAT, the ball popped loose and William Will passed to Gus Madden for a 2-point conversion and the lead with 12:29 to play.

San Diego (2-1, 1-0 Pioneer League) came back with a 70-yard drive, capped by Heyward's 1-yard plunge. On the next possession Anthony Lawrence hooked up with Hodges for a 62-yard score.

Lawrence finished 26 of 34 for 371 yards and two touchdowns but two first-half interceptions kept the game tied at 7.

Hodges had six catches for 122 yards and Brian Riley had six for 126.

Dayton (2-2, 0-1) only had 70 yards in the first half and finished with 227.
