OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) — St. Bonaventure has hired Bowling Green assistant Jesse Fleming to coach its women's basketball team.

It's a homecoming for Fleming, who is a St. Bonaventure graduate and spent 11 seasons working his way up from being the Bonnies team manager to eventual assistant coach. He has spent the past four seasons at Bowling Green, where he served as associate head coach under Jennifer Roos.

He replaces his mentor, Jim Crowley, who left St. Bonaventure two weeks ago following 16 seasons to take over the Providence program.

Fleming takes over an Atlantic 10 Conference team that went 24-8 last season and earned its second NCAA Tournament berth. He spent his first four years at St. Bonaventure as the team's manager, before Crowley hired Fleming as an assistant coach in 2005.
