RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — VCU men's basketball coach Will Wade says rising junior forward Michael Gilmore has decided to transfer.

The coach made the announcement Tuesday.

The 6-foot-10 Gilmore, from Jacksonville, Florida, played in 55 games for the Rams over two seasons, starting 18. He averaged 2.7 points and 2.2 rebounds.

This season, Wade's first, Gilmore averaged 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.

Gilmore is the third VCU player to leave since the end of the season, joining freshmen forwards Gerron Scissum and Jonathan Nwankwo.
