Hawaii stays atop Big West, beats Cal State Fullerton 76-59

HONOLULU (AP) — Stefan Jankovic had 16 points and nine rebounds, Aaron Valdes had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Hawaii maintained its hold of first place in the conference, beating Cal State Fullerton 76-59.

The Rainbow Warriors (20-3, 9-1 Big West Conference) pulled away with a 13-5 run to lead 61-46 and kept the margin in double digits for the rest of the way.

Quincy Smith added 15 points, Roderick Bobbitt scored 12 and Sai Tummala had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Hawaii reached 20 wins for the third straight season, the first time the program has done so since 1947-50.

The Titans made 1 of 13 shots while Hawaii opened on a 20-3 run. Fullerton (9-15, 2-9) closed within two before the Rainbow Warriors ended the half with an 11-4 run to lead 40-31.

Tre Coggins led the Titans with 18 points but fouled out with 4:55 left in the game.
