HOUSTON (AP) — Chris Thomas scored 26 points as Texas Southern beat Jackson State 76-60 on Saturday night.

Thomas was 10 of 12 from the field and added five rebounds and four assists for the Tigers (11-12, 10-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Jose Rodriguez added 15 points off the bench, Derrick Griffin had 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Malcolm Riley chipped in 10 points. Texas Southern hit 58.5 percent from the field overall and 64 percent from the line.

Texas Southern had a 29-28 lead at the break and went on to outscore Jackson State 47-32 in the second half.

The victory cements Texas Southern's top spot in the SWAC standings. The Tigers only conference loss came last week when they fell 59-55 to Prairie View.

Raeford Worsham scored 23 points with six rebounds and four assists for Jackson State (13-12, 8-4). Paris Collins added 13 points.
