Moore has 17 points, UTEP holds off FAU 89-82

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Lee Moore had 17 points to lead six UTEP players in double figures as the Miners held on to beat Florida Atlantic 89-82 on Saturday.

Omega Harris and Earvin Morris had 14 apiece, Dominic Artis and Hooper Vint added 13 each and Terry Winn chipped in 11 for UTEP (15-11, 7-6 Conference USA).

The Miners, who have won four straight after dropping three in a row, won their second road game of the season.

UTEP jumped out to an early lead, rolled to a 47-34 halftime lead and was up 84-70 with 4:34 left.

FAU's Jeantal Cylla, who finished with 16 points, drilled a trey to start a 12-1 run and close to 85-82 with 2:32 left. The Miners made four free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

Adonis Filer led FAU (7-19, 5-8) with 18 points. Marquan Botley added 15 for the Owls.
