RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — ShawnDre' Jones scored 17 points and Richmond closed the game on a 19-8 run and beat Fordham 71-67 on Saturday night.
T.J. Cline added 13 points and Terry Allen 12 for the Spiders (14-10, 6-6 Atlantic 10), who won their third in a row.
Ryan Rhoomes had 19 points and 12 rebounds and Christian Sengfelder had 14 points and 15 rebounds for the Rams (12-11, 3-9), who lost their third straight.
Trailing 59-50, Jones' 3-pointer sparked the game-ending run for the Spiders. Cline also had a 3-pointer and Khwan Fore had a key steal and layup with just over 50 seconds to go.
David Pekarek hit a quick 3-pointer for the Rams with 17.7 seconds left, pulling Fordham within 68-67, but Jones made a free throw and when the Rams failed to score on the ensuing possession, Davis gathered the loose rebound for Richmond, was fouled and made both to seal the victory.
