Williams leads No. 22 South Florida women past Cincinnati

CINCINNATI (AP) — Courtney Williams scored 17 of her 22 points in the first half and No. 22 South Florida rolled to a 78-51 win over Cincinnati on Friday night.

Williams hit 3 of 4 3-pointers and 7 of 10 overall while the Bulls (18-6, 11-3 American) shot 55 percent in the first half for a 38-27 lead.

Kitija Laksa added 14 points and Maria Jespersen 10 for South Florida, which has won six of its last seven. It was Williams' 15th game this season scoring at least 20.

Jasmine Whitfield had 14 for the Bearcats (7-17, 3-10), who lost their fourth straight.

Williams had five points as South Florida jumped to a 9-2 and added five more as the Bulls led 21-11 at the end of one quarter.

It was 38-27 at the half and 54-41 after three quarters but Laksa scored eight straight for the Bulls, who led by 22 after a Laia Flores trey with 5:39 left.

South Florida plays at No. 12 Louisville on Monday.
