LOS ANGELES (AP) — Tre Hale-Edmerson and Jerron Wilbut combined to score 25 of their 29 points in the second half to help Cal State Northridge rally and beat Cal State-Fullerton 75-67 Wednesday night.
Hale-Edmerson finished with 15 points and Wilbut 14.
Kendall Smith had 18 points with eight rebounds and Aaron Parks scored 14 for CSUN. Olalekan Ajayi tied a season high with 10 rebounds.
Lionheart Leslie made a layup that put Fullerton up 51-44 with 11 minutes to play, but CSUN scored 17 of the next 19 points to open up an eight-point lead as the Titans went six minutes, 44 seconds without a field goal. They made just 2 of 6 free throws and committed two turnovers over that span.
Malcolm Brooks' layup with 4:16 left ended Fullerton's drought and trimmed its deficit to 63-57, but it was too little, too late. The Matadors made 12 of 16 free throws from there to seal it.
Leslie led the Titans (9-14, 2-8) with 14 points, on 6-of-8 shooting, and nine rebounds.
