CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — Montel James scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Loyola of Chicago rolled to a 73-59 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night.

Donte Ingram and Devon Turk added 14 points apiece for the Ramblers (11-13, 4-8 Missouri Valley), which shot 55 percent from the floor. Milton Doyle had 11 points and Earl Peterson chipped in 10.

Anthony Beane had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Southern Illinois (18-7, 7-5), which has lost four straight. Sean O'Brien added 17 points.

Loyola led 30-26 at halftime, and opened the second half on a 16-6 surge to stretch its lead to 46-33 with 11:22 left. James scored eight points during the span.

Beane scored nine points as part of an 11-4 spurt to pull the Salukis to 58-48 with five minutes left. Peterson answered with a 3-pointer and the Ramblers had a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
