CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Cameron Johnson scored 16 points and had four steals to lead the College of Charleston past Drexel 60-38 on Saturday for the Dragons' eighth-straight loss.

Jarrell Brantley scored 11 points and made two assists for the Cougars (15-8, 7-5 Colonial Athletic Association), who never trailed in outrebounding Drexel 34-29 and outscoring them 22-10 in the paint.

Charleston opened with a 19-1 run in which Brantley and Marquise Pointer each made 3-pointers and were never seriously challenged. Johnson had nine points and the Cougars shot 44 percent from the field in the opening half.

Drexel showed some life early in the second half, gaining on an 11-2 run in which Tavon Allen made a 3, but the Cougars were soon back in control, outscoring them 30-28 in the half.

Rodney Williams led Drexel (3-20, 1-11) with eight points.
