Stony Brook dumps UMass Lowell 91-73 behind Warney

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Jameel Warney scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Stony Brook beat UMass-Lowell 91-73 Saturday and extended the nation's longest winning streak to 15 games.

Warney —one of five Seawolves in double figures— shot 10 for 14 from the field and hauled in eight offensive rebounds. Carson Puriefoy had 17 points and nine rebounds and Lucas Woodhouse added 16.

Stony Brook (19-4, 10-0 American East) shot 36 for 71 from the field (50.7 percent).

Stony Brook used a 9-3 run in the final two minutes of the first half and led 37-28 at halftime.

After the break, Ahmad Walker hit a 3, Woodhouse and Puriefoy each converted layups, Woodhouse buried a 3 and Walker had a 3-point play and the lead swelled to 50-32.

Isaac White led UMass (8-15, 4-6) with 20 points, while Mark Cornelius and Matt Harris each finished with 11.
