BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Spencer Collins scored 18 points and added seven rebounds to help lead Wofford to a 78-75 win over Samford on Saturday.

Wofford held a 74-68 lead with 38 seconds to go, but a layup by Samford's Wyatt Walker and a foul by Fletcher Magee set up Walker's 3-point play which cut the lead to three.

After Collins hit a free throw, Darius Jones-Gibson made a layup to put the Bulldogs (11-14, 2-10 Southern Conference) to within two. But Eric Garcia hit 3 of his 4 free throw attempts in the final 14 seconds to push the lead back to 78-73 and seal the win for the Terriers (11-13, 7-4). Samford had an opportunity to tie on its penultimate possession, but Christen Cunningham turned it over.

Garcia finished with 17 points and Magee had 13 for Wofford.

Jones-Gibson scored 21 and Cunningham added 19 to lead Samford.
