COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Injured South Carolina forward Tiffany Mitchell says she's got a sore back but is ready to play against top-ranked Connecticut on Monday night.

Mitchell crashed hard to the floor Thursday night and missed most of No. 2 South Carolina's 78-68 win over No. 18 Kentucky. She spent several minutes face down on the court before getting helped to the locker room. She was diagnosed with a lower back bruise.

The two-time Southeastern Conference player of the year was at practice Saturday and says she expects to play against the Huskies. Mitchell is the team's second-leading scorer at 14.5 points a game.

Coach Dawn Staley says senior starter Asia Dozier will miss a second consecutive game after injuring her hand at No. 12 Texas A&M last week.
