FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — D'Shon Taylor hit five 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 31 points, and Jeff Short scored 19, including a pair of free throws with three seconds left, to lead Norfolk State past Northern Arizona 70-66 Monday night.

Norfolk State (2-4) used an 11-0 run to open up a 52-42 lead midway through the second half and Zaynah Robinson's layup gave the Spartans a 12-point advantage with just fewer than four minutes to play.

Jaleni Neely scored seven during a 13-3 spurt that was capped by Marcus DeBerry's 3-pointer and pulled Northern Arizona (2-4) within two with 37 seconds to play.

Taylor and Short combined to make 4 of 4 free throws in the final 22 seconds to seal it.

Neely led Northern Arizona with 14 points, Torry Johnson added 13 and Kris Yanku had 10 points and six assists. Ako Kaluna grabbed 11 rebounds.
