STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) — Tookie Brown scored 15 points to help Georgia Southern beat Bob Jones 104-52 on Monday night in the Palmetto State Shootout.

Georgia Southern led 17-2 before Tre Tipton made Bob Jones' first field goal at the 12:43 mark. Ray Holden made the Bruins' second basket four-plus minutes later as Georgia Southern had built its lead to 29-6.

Bob Jones made just 6 of 28 shots in the first half (21.4 percent), including 1 of 14 from 3-point range, and turned it over 13 times.

The Eagles led by as many as 55 with 3:37 remaining in the second half.

Mike Hughes and DeVince Boykins added 11 points apiece for Georgia Southern (3-3). The Eagles made as many free throws (21 of 34) as Bob Jones attempted (15 of 21).

Bob Jones, a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association, was led by Holden with 11 points. The Bruins were held to 16-of-56 shooting (28.6 percent) and committed 29 turnovers.
