LAS VEGAS (AP) — Patrick McCaw scored 18 points, Derrick Jones Jr. added 14 and UNLV ran away from Prairie View in the second half to take an 80-62 win Saturday night.

Ben Carter hit a pair of free throws and Jones dunked to jump start the second half for the Runnin' Rebels, sparking a 17-2 run that broke open a game that was tied at halftime, 42-42, and giving UNLV (6-1) a 59-44 advantage.

Stephen Zimmerman Jr., Jordan Cornish and Carter each added 10 points for UNLV. The Rebels were 24-of-52 shooting from the field (46.2 percent) and knocked down 8 of 20 from beyond the arc while converting 24 of 31 from the free throw line.

Tevin Bellinger scored 18 points and Admassu Williams added 12 points and six boards for Prairie View (0-6).
