San Diego beats Drexel 62-59 in Shootout for first win

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Marcus Harris scored 14 points and San Diego picked up its first season win with a 62-59 victory over Drexel to wrap up the Great Alaska Shootout on Saturday.

Duda Sanadze had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Toreros (1-5). Jito Kok had 10 points and Brandon Perry added eight points. The team averaged 43.9 percent shooting from the field and 78.6 percent from the line.

Drexel led early in the first period, going 10-7 to start, but Harris hit a pair of 3-pointers to help the Toreros climb to a 23-20 lead with 8:14 to play before the break and they held on for a 31-30 advantage at halftime.

Harris opened the second period with another 3 and Kok, Perry and Harris were able to keep Drexel at bay the rest of the way for the win.

Tavon Allen scored 10 points for the Dragons (0-6).
