LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Ryan Jones scored 20 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, and Jahad Thomas added 13 points with 10 rebounds to lead Massachusetts-Lowell to a 104-76 win over Division III Wheelock College on Tuesday.

Keith Hayes II scored 15, on 5-of-5 shooting, Dontavious Smith had 14 points and Josh Gantz 12 for the River Hawks (2-2).

Jones hit three 3-pointers and scored the final 11 points of the first half during a 13-2 Lowell run that made it 22-11 with 15 minutes left.

Anthony Williams made a layup to cut Wheelock's deficit to four with just fewer than three minutes left before halftime, but Lowell scored the next 14 points to push its lead to 54-36 early in the second half. The Wildcats trailed by at least 14 the rest of the way.

Williams led Wheelock with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Derek Fournier and Dejuan Rodriguez scored 13 apiece.
