JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Michael Gordon ran for three touchdowns to lead Arkansas State to a 49-35 win over Idaho in Sun Belt Conference play on Saturday night.

Gordon carried 26 times for 221 yards for the Red Wolves (2-3, 1-0). Johnston White ran for two touchdowns and James Tabary threw for 188 yards and a score.

After an Idaho interception return for a score early in the second quarter, Gordon responded with a 59-yard touchdown run to tie it 14-14. The Red Wolves also scored on their next two possessions, on a 2-yard run by White followed by another TD run by Gordon to lift the team to a 28-14 lead at halftime.

Gordon posted his third touchdown on a 10-yard run midway through the third quarter to stretch the Red Wolves' lead to 35-14.

Jake Luton had 166 yards for the Vandals (1-4, 0-2) and was intercepted three times.
