BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California coach Cuonzo Martin has added another elite player with the signing of high school All-America small forward Jaylen Brown on Monday.
Brown joins a recruiting class already featuring All-America forward Ivan Rabb from Oakland's Bishop O'Dowd High, a consensus top-10 prospect in the nation.
Brown, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound small forward from Marietta, Georgia, is the third member of the 2015 recruiting class for Martin, who will begin his second year coaching the Golden Bears.
Martin says: "Jaylen is one of the nation's elite players and we are thrilled he is a Golden Bear. He is a strong, athletic player with a tremendous work ethic. Jaylen has the skill and ability to play four different positions on the floor."
Brown averaged 28 points and 12 rebounds as a senior to lead Wheeler High to a 30-3 record and his school's first Georgia 6A state title since 2009.
