PROVO, Utah -- Third Quarter:Idaho can leave Provo knowing that they beat BYU in at least one of the quarters of this game. They kicked a field goal and BYU was held scoreless in the 3rd frame.

The Cougars kept Riley Nelson in for one series on offense and fans didn't get to see Jamaal Williams take another rush on the evening as Bronco started rotating through his Seniors and his depth chart as the game ticked away with James Lark under center for BYU.

BYU was stopped on a 4th and Goal attempt but were driving at the end of the 3rd quarter, threatening to widen the already wide gap.

Second Quarter:BYU racked up almost 400 yards of total offense in the first half and Jamaal Williams did his duty and ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns. The Cougars scored 42 points int he first half and even left a few points on the field with an abysmal field goal attempt by Justin Sorensen.

With the score 42-7 at the halfway point in the game its a sure bet Bronco will file in his Seniors at their last home game of their careers.

Idaho is hanging in there in the Provo cold and the Poinsettia Bowl officials are in the booth with us, primed to extend an official invitation to BYU to San Diego at the end of the game.

First Quarter:The Idaho Vandals came to Provo knowing exactly who they are. A team that is beyond struggling with no ability to stop a decent offense and that has a hard time scoring points when they have the ball.

BYU went right to work in the first quarter after a big Jamaal Williams run in the open field opened up for a throwing touchdown and two rushing scores from Williams to pick up 21 quick points in the first frame.

With more than 80 yards and twoon the ground for Williams, you would think that I would be giving the MVP to him. But Riley Nelson was 7 for 9 on his first pass attempts with 119 yards and a score with a QB rating of 225. The Cougars added a defensive score on a happless offensive play by Idaho(happless play is a bit redundant) but gave up a score of their own to end the first quarter 28-7. The way the Vandals are walking off the field, they know how long this night is going to be.
