DETROIT (AP) — Anibal Sanchez is heading back to the bullpen for the Detroit Tigers.

Manager Brad Ausmus says the Tigers will use Sanchez in relief after he returned to the rotation for one start. The right-hander allowed four runs in five innings in a loss to Cleveland on Saturday.

Sanchez is 4-8 with a 6.06 ERA this season. Saturday was his first start since May 31, but he was solid out of the bullpen in between.

The 32-year-old Sanchez is in the second-to-last season of his $80 million, five-year deal. Detroit also has a team option to bring him back for 2018.

The Tigers are going with youngsters Michael Fulmer and Daniel Norris in their rotation, along with Justin Verlander, Jordan Zimmermann and Mike Pelfrey.
