PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted Chad Kuhl from Triple-A Indianapolis, and the right-hander is slated to make his major league debut Sunday night against Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 23-year-old Kuhl went 6-2 with a 2.58 ERA in 14 starts at Indianapolis. He has compiled a 33-16 record with a 2.79 ERA in 81 starts over four minor league seasons since being drafted in the ninth round in 2013 from the University of Delaware.

The Pirates also optioned left-hander Kyle Lobstein to Indianapolis and designated right-hander Curtis Partch for assignment.
