BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox say a fan who was injured at Fenway Park trying to catch a foul ball is expected to be released from a hospital Wednesday night.

The man flipped backward over a railing in the lower box seats and landed on a concrete walkway during an afternoon game between the Red Sox and New York Yankees. Emergency medical personnel at the stadium treated him for a possible concussion and he was taken away on a stretcher.

Several fans have been injured at Fenway Park this season.

In June, a woman was hit by a piece of a broken bat and sustained life-threatening injuries before recovering. In July, a woman was hit in the face by a foul and taken to a hospital. Earlier this week, a woman was hit in the elbow by thrown bat.

Last weekend, a baseball fan in Atlanta died after falling from the upper deck at Turner Field.
