President Donald Trump returned home Saturday night from the Middle East and Europe. He looked like a conventional American leader during his first trip abroad, but he sounded anything but typical. For example, he made no attempt to publicly promote democracy and human rights in Saudi Arabia. He didn't back the two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians. And he berated NATO allies about their financial commitments.
