WASHINGTON (AP) — An attorney for former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn says that his client told the Defense Intelligence Agency that he would be traveling to Moscow to attend a gala for a Russian state-sponsored television network. Attorney Robert Kelner says Flynn also talked with agency staff after he returned and answered any questions they asked. Two top congressmen on a House committee investigating Flynn say he may have violated federal law.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump says that he hasn't changed his position on building a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico. Trump tweeted Tuesday, "Don't let the fake media tell you that I have changed my position on the WALL. It will get built and help stop drugs, human trafficking etc." Trump told a gathering of around 20 conservative media reporters Monday evening that he would be willing to return to the wall funding issue in September.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus says a judge's ruling against a Trump administration order to withhold funding from sanctuary cities is another case of "the Ninth Circuit going bananas." Priebus was referring to the 9th Circuit Court in San Francisco, where judges have also ruled against Trump's travel bans. Priebus says the Supreme Court will eventually overturn the ruling.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea says key parts of a contentious U.S. missile defense system have been installed a day after rival North Korea showed off its military power. The South's trumpeting of progress on setting up the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense system, or THAAD, comes as high-powered U.S. military assets converge on the Korean Peninsula and as a combative North Korea signals possible nuclear and missile testing. North Korea conducted live-fire artillery drills on Tuesday.

COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) — Court documents show that a 15-year-old Tennessee girl who was allegedly kidnapped by her teacher had endured months of abuse by her mother. The mother is scheduled to appear in court next month to face five counts of abuse and neglect involving several of her children.
