Opinion: Congressional GOP face tough choices about minority voters

Although Congress had renewed the Voting Rights Act in 2006 after holding extensive hearings on racial discrimination in voting, Chief Justice Roberts writing for the majority said, "our country has changed" and the act no longer speaks to current conditions.

Property taxes are going up in Salt Lake City, on top of the increases already in place in the Salt Lake School district and in Salt Lake County.
