Parking changes highlight Salt Lake City's budget

The Salt Lake City Council approved the city's 2012-2013 budget without talks of layoffs or property tax increases. But it will cost more to park at meters downtown.

Smith's won't sell aerial fireworks; Cities give more restrictions

Extremely hot and dry conditions in Utah have convinced one of Utah's largest grocery store chains to keep the fireworks they sell close to the ground. Smith's announced Wednesday it will not sell aerial fireworks this summer, even though they are permitted by law.
