U.S. public television science correspondent Miles O'Brien said Tuesday his left arm was amputated above the elbow after an apparently minor injury in Asia put his life in jeopardy.

Office furniture maker Steelcase Inc. is donating its massive pyramid-shaped former research facility in western Michigan to a nonprofit foundation for use as an education hub that's focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Memorial race planned for U. of Michigan student

A memorial race is planned for May in honor of a slain University of Michigan medical student on the weekend he was set to have graduated from the medical program.
