SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Members of The Leonardo museum and the Utah Recycling Alliance has come together to host a "Fix-It Clinic" for people to bring in broken and outdated appliances and learn how to repair them.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/2qvmomQ ) the event, which took place Saturday, was part of an ongoing effort by the Utah Recycling Alliance to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.
Vice Board Chairwoman for the Utah Recycling Alliance Morgan Bowerman says the clinic aimed to fill a gap in the recycling efforts and help Utah citizens move toward zero waste.
Bowerman says the clinic will continue on a quarterly basis with events planned for September and November. She added that the clinic may even become a monthly event.
