SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a northern Utah police officer has been injured after rolling his vehicle on Interstate 15 during a car chase.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Todd Royce says the Bluffdale officer suffered minor injuries in the Saturday night incident and went to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The chase began in Lehi when officers tried to stop a vehicle for a registration violation.
The suspect failed to stop and fled down the highway.
Royce says the Bluffdale officer joined the pursuit and rolled his vehicle near an on-ramp. The patrol car ended up in an emergency lane on the northbound side of the highway.
Officers terminated the chase after the crash and are still searching for the suspect.
