SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah construction worker is dead after a trench collapse in American Fork.
Police say a second worker was hurt after jumping into to help on Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews freed the second worker from the trench and took the person to a hospital.
American Fork Police Lt. Sam Liddiard says the crew was digging near a water line when the trench walls collapsed.
A third worker also jumped in to help but was able to free himself.
The deceased worker's name was not immediately released.
