ALIQUIPPA, Pa. (AP) — A prosecutor says a school board member and a substitute teacher didn't properly relay a report that an older student had sex with a 12-year-old girl in a western Pennsylvania school district.
Aliquippa School Board member Aileen Gilbert was arrested Monday. Police have a warrant to arrest 45-year-old teacher Ahna Anderson.
Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier says two students showed the substitute cellphone video of the sex act and Gilbert saw it because she was working on a program to address sexual behavior by students.
Lozier says the women were supposed to immediately alert police or the Pennsylvania ChildLine, but another staffer did that the following day.
Gilbert's attorney said she "denies any criminal wrongdoing and looks forward to her day in court." Court records don't list Anderson's attorney.
