PHOENIX (AP) — Health officials have confirmed two cases of measles in Arizona and say people may have been exposed to the virus in Pinal County.
The Arizona Department of Health Services says both patients are recovering.
One of the cases may have exposed the public to the measles last Saturday at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino in Maricopa and the Arco AM/PM Store in Casa Grande on Sunday.
Health officials say people who were at these locations last weekend should monitor for symptoms and call their health care provider if they begin exhibiting symptoms.
The other case did not have exposure to public places and doesn't pose a risk to the public.
Measles is a highly contagious, vaccine-preventable viral illness and symptoms can appear up to 21 days after exposure.
