GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) — Florida authorities say the nephew of a former county sheriff is suspected of fatally shooting his girlfriend, her father and his ex-wife and is still at large.

Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler says 41-year-old Murray Lancaster is suspected of killing his girlfriend Valorie Short, her father, Welland "Buddy" Short, and his ex-wife Erica Green.

Lancaster is the nephew of former Clay County Sheriff Scott Lancaster, and son of a county commissioner.

Beseler says Murray Lancaster was involved in a previous domestic violence arrest. He says Lancaster abducted Valorie Short at gunpoint from the hair salon where she worked.

Police found the bodies of Short and her father at a country club.

Beseler says Lancaster next went to a landfill where his ex-wife worked and fatally shot her.
