NEW YORK (AP) — Some prospective students wrongfully received acceptance letters to the School of Visual Arts, which the New York college says were sent due to a database glitch.
The college said the letters were emailed Thursday in error.
SVA spokesman Jeffrey Perkin said the letters accepted the students to the college's program to achieve a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Narrative.
He said in a statement that the acceptance letters were sent to people who had requested information from the college.
He said a "database glitch" caused the letters to be sent to the wrong email distribution list
Perkins did not respond to follow-up inquiries seeking information about how many emails had been sent in error.
