WASHINGTON (AP) — A former assistant track coach at a public high school in Washington has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing seven male students.

Charles Young, who previously worked at Dunbar Senior High School, pleaded guilty Friday in D.C. Superior Court. The 35-year-old Young acknowledged abusing students between the ages of 14 and 17. He acknowledged that the abuse occurred on the school's campus between January 2013 and May 2014.

As part of the plea, Young acknowledged that he sometimes used concerns about students' hygiene as a ploy to get students to take off their clothes and apply hand sanitizer or lotion to their bodies. He would then attempt to touch the boys' genitals.

A sentencing hearing is set for April 22. A message left Friday for Young's attorney was not immediately returned.
