AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Police investigating a brawl involving players, coaches and fans following a girls high school basketball game in Ohio have charged two teammates in the melee.
Akron police say a player touched off the fight and hit the opposing team's coach. The 17-year-old has been charged with riot and assault.
Her twin sister who also is on the team has been charged with riot.
The fighting broke out right after Kenmore High School beat North High School on Thursday night.
Police used pepper spray to control the crowd and several people were treated after inhaling the fumes.
Akron police say a student from Kenmore will be charged with riot and that more charges could be coming.
