HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — A standoff between a Henderson couple and police has ended with their arrest.
Henderson police say the incident began 1 a.m. Friday when officers were called to an apartment on Annie Oakley Drive near Sunset Road.
Authorities say 35-year-old Melissa Williams allegedly assaulted her 16-year-old daughter and then threatened to kill her husband and herself with a handgun.
They say the teen escaped and her aunt called police.
Officers say four adults and two juveniles barricaded themselves in the home but all except for Williams surrendered peacefully.
A SWAT team took Williams into custody at 6:45 a.m.
She has been booked on several charges including possession of a controlled substance and of a gun by a prohibited person.
Her husband, 56-year-old Roderick Merritt, was booked for obstructing a police officer.
