CLEVELAND (AP) — Authorities say they've arrested a 19-year-old Cleveland man in the fatal shooting of a 5-month-old girl as she rode in the back seat of a car while her mother and grandmother drove to a grocery store for birthday cake supplies.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Davon Holmes was arrested Friday morning in Cleveland on an aggravated murder warrant by members of a fugitive task force. A second man was arrested Friday on suspicion of tampering with evidence.

Online court records didn't indicate whether Holmes has an attorney.

The baby, Aavielle Wakefield, was shot once in the chest after the car was struck by rounds of gunfire Oct. 1 on a Cleveland street. She was the third small child to be killed by gunfire in the city in a four-week period.
