LAS VEGAS (AP) — LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas Police say a 4-year-old boy who died in a hot pickup truck might have been in the vehicle for up to three hours before he died Thursday. Police were called just before 6:30 p.m., and the boy was pronounced dead at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center. He was apparently left in the car after returning home with his grandfather.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police are setting rules for releasing videos from officer body cameras to the media and public. The policy allows for viewing recorded video in a closed room with police supervision. Clips or copies of footage can be provided later to people paying an up-front fee. Nearly 200 Las Vegas police officers have been wearing cameras since last fall.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — Truckee Meadows Community College President Maria Sheehan says she will retire in January to do volunteer work in Central America. Sheehan has been president of TMCC since 2008. She announced her retirement today in a statement issued by the school.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Airport officials say about 4 million people flew into and out of Las Vegas in July. McCarran International Airport says was up 8.8 percent last month compared to a year ago. Spirit Airlines saw the biggest jump with 34.9 percent more passengers last month compared to July 2014. Domestic flights increased 9 percent and international flights increased 6 percent.
