BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) — A judge ordered a former Adams County elementary school teacher to stand trial on charges that he allegedly sexually assaulted six of his students.
Prosecutors accuse 65-year-old Gilbert Trujillo of assaulting the students between 2004 and 2011 at Dupont Elementary School. Trujillo taught fourth and fifth grade and the students he is accused of assaulting were girls who were 9 and 10 years old.
Authorities began investigating Trujillo on November 2013.
An Adams County District Court judge on Friday ordered a trial for Trujillo. He is scheduled to enter a plea on Oct. 20.
Trujillo is in jail awaiting trial. His bond is set at $200,000.
