ELKO, Nev. (AP) — Elko County sheriff's deputies say a 31-year-old Montana man arrested for suspicion of drunken driving on Interstate 80 has also been charged with child abuse or neglect because he allegedly had a young child in the vehicle.
Elko County Undersheriff Clair Morris says Timothy J. Parker of Box Elder, Montana was headed west bound Sunday when an officer pulled him over about 10 miles west of Wells.
Morris told the Elko Daily Free Press (http://tinyurl.com/q234hsh) there were four passengers in the car, including an unrestrained 6-year-old child in the back seat. He says Parker also has been charged with having an open alcoholic container in a vehicle.
