LAS VEGAS (AP) — The officer shot in the face Sunday night by a man with a pellet gun is 28-year-old Keith McIntyre.

McIntyre was treated and released the same night at University Medical Center.

The Clark County Coroner says the man shot and killed by officers was Bryan Keith Day.

Police say officers were responding to a burglary and battery call at an apartment complex southeast of downtown Las Vegas when Day approached the officers.

Las Vegas Police say McIntyre and officers John Squeo and Christopher Gowens shot and killed Day after he fired his handgun at the officer's face.

Squeo and Gowens have been Las Vegas police officers since March 2014 and McIntyre has been with the agency since 2008.

All are on routine paid administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
