LAS VEGAS (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the northwest area of metropolitan Las Vegas.

Meteorologists say there could be excessive water runoff and more water in area washes in the northwest portions of Clark County on Sunday afternoon.

The advisory is only in effect until 4:30 p.m.

But thunderstorms already moved into the Las Vegas valley earlier in the day.

Forecasters say conditions will be slightly cooler and mostly dry later this week with temperatures hovering between 100 and 103 degrees.
