NEW ROADS, La. (AP) — The Pointe Coupee Parish School Board released the résumés of 12 candidates who have applied for the superintendent's position following Linda D'Amico's announcement that she's retiring at the end of the year.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1Fd84S4 ) among the pool of applicants are educational officials from Maryland and Lafayette as well as a few administrators from schools in the Baton Rouge area.

The School Board will select three finalists in mid-April after two rounds of public interviews.

The top three candidates will move on to round two, which will consist of a "meet and greet" with the public followed by an open forum interview before the board.

Selection of the next schools superintendent will likely take place after board members meet privately with each candidate in an executive session.
